Carlos Augusto Garcia, AIA, ASLA, NCARB, LEED AP is a firm Principal with more than twenty years of experience in the fields of architecture; design and construction; project, team and firm management. He is a registered architect in the states of California and Louisiana, and carries two degrees of Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Carlos firmly believes in stressing the importance of new material technology and utilizing the contemporary architect's digital toolbox. He believes that designing environments is a powerful tool for social change, carrying memberships from professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
He serves on NCARB's ARE Forms Development Subcommittee, helping to develop the path for aspiring architects' paths to licensure, several Los Angeles AIA committees engaged in removing barriers to affordable housing and lifting community members out of homelessness, and the Building Code Interpretation Committee for the International Code Council (ICC).
He is the recipient of the National American Institute of Architects Young Architects Award and has been featured in international architecture magazines, honored with an installation at the Ogden Museum of Art, addressed City Councils as a proponent of his design, and helped to implement new technologies not yet addressed in building codes. Carlos sat on the National AIA COTE Committee on the Environment and currently is an AIALA Board Member. He is currently working with NCARB to address changes in the current code cycle.
